Erin Hibbard
Welcome to Golden Hour Counselling ✨
I’m a Glasgow based counsellor working with women in person and online.
This website is an opportunity to get to know me a bit more, and explore whether you would be interested in working together.
Choosing a counsellor can feel like a big decision. It’s important to find someone you connect with and can trust with your thoughts, experiences, and feelings. Everyone’s counselling experience is different; some processes take a while, and some people might just need a listening ear to help get through a difficult patch. There’s no right or wrong reason to seek support, and you don’t need to have things figured out before you begin!
I’m a counsellor registered with the BACP (British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work within their ethical framework. I have a diploma in integrative counselling and psychotherapy, and also work in a counselling practice within the voluntary sector.
From personal experience, I know how impactful counselling can be. It’s not only had a transformative impact on my life, but the change has also rippled out to those around me.
I believe the therapeutic hour is a golden one. An hour of warmth, an hour of light reaching dark places, an hour of adjustment like when our eyes catch the sunlight. Albeit challenging, and vulnerable, I believe seeking help is courageous, and a powerful step towards growth and healing. I’m honoured to get to bear witness to someone doing this with their life through counselling.
About Me
Counselling
Counselling is a form of talking therapy that provides a safe, confidential environment for you to explore, process, and heal. Within a 50 minute therapeutic hour, over a short or long term period, we can gently process worries, relationships, trauma, and emotions in a warm, judgement free space, at your pace.
Whilst sharing the weight with someone is powerful in itself, counselling can also help you discover tools and techniques you can take outwith the session into everyday life.
I combine a number of therapeutic approaches in my practice; person-centred therapy, psychodynamic therapy, cognitive behavioural therapy, and existential psychotherapy. This can look like; processing thoughts and emotions, exploring the past, growing in self awareness, making change, getting unstuck, asking life questions, and finding hope.
What’s most important to me is our therapeutic relationship, so we’ll take things at your pace, and review to see how your finding our work together.
Below are some of the issues I have experience working with in counselling…
relationship difficulties
bereavement
issues of spirituality
self-esteem
anxiety
depression
suicide
